Pakistan writes to West Bengal on madrasas

KOLKATA: The Pakistan Government has sought from the West Bengal Government information regarding non-Muslims reportedly being enrolled in madrasas in the State and on the curricula being taught at these centres. In a letter dated July 18 to West Bengal's Minister of State for Madrasa Education, Abdus Sattar, the First Secretary [Political] in the Pakistan High Commissioner's office in New Delhi, Muhammad Khalid Jamali, referred to a news item in a daily that many non-Muslims were enrolled in the madrasas in West Bengal.
