CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has allowed a post-graduate medical student of JIPMER, arrested and released on bail in connection with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) entrance test question paper leak case, to attend classes. Justice Prabha Sridevan gave the permission after Dr. Vijaykanna of Karur said though he owned a laptop computer, allegedly used in the racket, he had no connection with the question paper leak case. The first year student said he was granted bail on May 31. When he went to the JIPMER to attend classes on June 1, he was served a copy of an order dated March 31, placing him under suspension. Unless the order was revoked and he was allowed to attend classes, he would be greatly prejudiced. It might take about a year for filing a charge sheet in the case "since it had all-India ramifications." The trial may go on for several years thereafter.
