Students urged to be a corrective force

Staff Reporter

MALAPPURAM: Muslim Youth League State president Sadiqali Shihab Thangal has called upon the student community to be a corrective force against immorality.

Inaugurating a meeting organised by the Muslim Students Federation (MSF) to commemorate its former president Habeeb Rahman here on Monday, the Thangal said that the next generation should make Rahman as a role model. Addressing the students after giving away the meritorious awards instituted by the MSF, Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) treasurer P.K. Kunhalikutty exhorted the students to intervene effectively in the country's political scenario.

He said the politics of minorities was being handled by the present Government for the benefit of only a few individuals, unlike the way the IUML handled it.

Former Education Minister E.T. Mohammed Basheer said that the MSF should function as a role model for campuses.
