Youth urged to root out terrorism

Staff Reporter

KADAPA: Peace is vital for progress and youth should strive to drive away terrorism, Collector M.T. Krishna Babu said on Monday.

Addressing a seminar on `youth against terrorism' at Kalakshetram here, the Collector said people of various religions, caste and creed were co-existing in the country, unlike in other nations. People lived with camaraderie despite attempts to rake up rifts on religious lines, which is `our' strength, he asserted. Unable to relish the country's giant strides in various sectors, certain forces were creating trouble and hence youth should don the mantle of fighting terrorism, Mr. Krishna Babu said. Superintendent of Police Y. Nagi Reddy said it was the bounden duty of one and all to check efforts of destructive forces. District Youth Welfare Officer B. Maheswar Reddy said Kadapa district topped in the State in implementation of Rajiv Yuva Shakthi scheme. Youth of remote villages were being imparted training for selections in Army, Air Force and Navy and para-military forces, he stated. Later the Collector and SP flagged off an anti-terrorism rally by Rajiv Yuva Shakthi members from Kalakshetram.
