Restrict movements, police personnel told

Staff Reporter

In the wake of Sunday naxalite encounter

GUNTUR: In the wake of the recent killing of police constable in Bollapalli mandal and the likelihood of a retaliatory strike on police force after the Yerragondapalem encounter on Sunday in Prakasam district, police personnel were advised to be on their guard and restrict their movements.

District Superintendent of Police B. Shivadhar Reddy said on Monday that all police personnel were asked to move in groups, armed with weapons to avoid incidents like constable Sadik's killing.

The place of encounter being just 70 kms from the border of Guntur district in Veldurthy mandal, all politicians from the district have been asked not to move without the escort of gunmen provided by the Government.
