Bangalore: Not all information technology professionals, and there are tens of thousands of them in our city, live by the "work hard, play hard" principle. Many are altruistic enough to think of those in need and do lend a helping hand. Last weekend, employees of Gobal Consultants Inc., providers of IT services and solutions worldwide, organised a blood donation camp in association with National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS). As part of their corporate social responsibility initiatives, it was held on their office premises and employees donated more than 97 units of bloodwhich will be used some day to save lives. Beena Jayson of NIMHANS blood donation camps acknowledged, "we thank all those who donated blood. We appreciate the social consciousness of GCI's employees in supporting this noble cause." GCI vice-president (Human Resources), Kisholoy Gupta said, "we are very happy with the proactive participation of the employees in the blood donation camp. The overwhelming response to the request for blood donors make us very happy."
