Water supply

to be affected

NEW DELHI: Due to power failure at the Cantonment booster pumping station, water supply will be at low pressure on Tuesday morning at Vasant Vihar, Anand Niketan, Shanti Niketan, Satya Niketan, Moti Bagh, R.K. Puram, Vasant Enclave, Vasant Kunj, Munirka, Malviya Nagar, Hauz Khas, Green Park, Khel Gaon, Gulmohar Park, Udai Park, All-India Institute of Medical Sciences, Safdarjang Hospital and Neeti Bagh.

According to the Delhi Jal Board release, tankers will be available on telephone No. 26100644 and 26193218 (R.K. Puram), 26137216 and 26121939 (Vasant Kunj) and 26642884 and 26642493 (Mehrauli).

Namibian team visits electoral office

NEW DELHI: A nine-member Namibian delegation visited the office of the Chief Electoral Officer on Monday to familiarise itself with electoral functioning in the country.

Led by Chairman of the Electoral Commission of Namibia, Victor L. Tonchi, the delegation was provided with all the electoral details including Constitutional provisions on election-related activities, the functioning of the Election Commission of India and field functionaries like District Election Officers, Electoral Registration Officers and Returning Officers.

Book Week celebrated

NEW DELHI: St. Mark's Senior Secondary Public School celebrated its 5th annual Book Week at its Meera Bagh premises here this past week.

Inaugurated by the school Chairman, T.P. Aggarwal, the Book Week saw an array of activities including `Enact a Story', `Enact a Proverb' and `Creative Writing'.

Notice to bus owner

New Delhi: The Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum (East) has issued notices to the owner of a chartered bus for misbehaving with and forcing a commuter to get down the bus in heavy rain. Complainant, K.J. Chhibber, an IIFT (Indian Institute of Foreign Trade) executive, boarded a chartered bus at Mayur Vihar to go to his office on March 14. Vijay Nautiyal, a relative of the bus owner asked him to get down.

Even as it was raining, Vijay continued to humiliate and threaten to assault him in front of the bus commuters, forcing him to get down the bus at Noida More.

Mongoose hair seized

NEW DELHI: The Delhi police along with members of the non-government organisation People For Animals (PFA) seized a huge quantity of mongoose hair in raids conducted at five factories in Jehangirpuri here on Monday.

Acting on a tip-off that a large number of mongoose hair paintbrushes were being manufactured in the area, PFA members contacted the police who in turn planned and conducted the raids. Five people were arrested and 60 kg of mongoose hair and 1,500 brushes seized.
