Jaunpur: Charges were framed on Monday against all the three accused in the Shramjivi Express blast case. The three accused, including two Bangladesi nationals- Obaidur Rehman alias Baba Bhai and Helaluddin alias Hilal- and Nafiq-ul-Biswas of West Bengal were produced in the court of District and Session Judge R..P. Tripathi amidst tight security. Charges have been framed under various sections of the IPC, Explosives Act and Railways Act.
48 witnesses examined
The court has summoned 48 people, including the guard and driver of the train, to depose before it as witnesses and fixed August 10 as the next date of hearing. Seventeen passengers were killed and scores injured in the blast in the Delhi-bound Shramjivi Express on July 28, 2005.
