NALGONDA: A team of Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths trapped Mandal Educational Officer (MEO of Gurrampodu M. Satyanarayana Reddy when he was allegedly accepting money from the organiser of a bridge school. According to ACB Inspector Ch. Srinivasa Rao, the MEO was caught red-handed while accepting Rs. 3,000 from the president of a non-Governmental organisation based at Bhongir. The organisation opened a bridge school at Koppolu in Gurrampodu mandal in 2005 and approached the District Educational Officer to conduct exam for its students to join them in regular schools and hostels. "The MEO had conducted an examination on June 14 but did not issue certificates for want of money," the Inspector said. The ACB team trapped the MEO at his house at Shantinagar in Nalgonda town and took him into custody.
