HYDERABAD: The Ex-servicemen Welfare Association is organising `Kargil Amar Jawan Commemoration Meet' at Parade Grounds on Wednesday to pay homage to the soldiers who laid down their lives during the Kargil war. The jawans will be remembered for their services and as a source of inspiration for the present day youth. Next of kin of all those Armymen from the State, who sacrificed their lives in the war will be presented with mementoes and felicitated by Governor Rameshwar Thakur. "It's a sad that the State Government is not recognising the sacrifices of the brave men from the State, who served the nation till their last breath. When other States are extending many welfare schemes for families of ex-servicemen, our State is found wanting," said A. Rangaiah Goud, president of the association. The basic motive in organising this meet is to inspire the youth to join the Army and serve the nation, he said.
