Two held on charge of chain-snatching

HYDERABAD:
Two youngsters, who allegedly snatched chains from seven persons in the past two months using stolen vehicles, were arrested by the Shahinayatgunj police on Monday. Four stolen two-wheelers and gold chains weighing 16 tolas, all worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs, were recovered from the arrested persons, Mohd. Hasham and Md. Ayub.
According to Shahinayatgunj Sub-Inspector S.V.N.S.R. Sharma, the duo used to steal bikes for snatching chains. Qutub, an accomplice, is still at large. The trio mostly targeted morning walkers.
Hasham was arrested in May 2005 and was released from jail on May 24. Within days, the trio was back in chain snatching business, the police said.
