Court stays HUDA auction at Izzatnagar

HYDERABAD: P. S. Narayana of Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday stayed the auction of land by the HUDA at Izzatnagar on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

The judge passed the interim orders in response to the writ petition filed by several farmers.

They brought to the notice of the court that the HUDA did not own the land.

They said that they were in possession of the land that and the HUDA could not unilaterally, in the name of development, take over the land and sell it off.

The judge stayed the auctioning by the HUDA until further orders and directed the Government to file counter affidavits.
