HYDERABAD: The MCH has decided to penalise private contractors involved in sanitation work if they do not press into services the required number of personnel in the specified jobs. Penalty will be deduction of double the wages for the outsourced labourers. MCH Commissioner Sanjay Jaju on Monday asked all the sanitary contractors to ensure maintenance of full attendance. He also said that all vacancies of the sanitary supervisors would be filled soon. Sanitary jawans, hitherto supervising the work of the MCH staff in the area earmarked to them, would also be entrusted the task of looking after the attendance and performance of the outsourced workers. Night sweeping should begin at 11 p.m. and continue up to 6 a.m. Assistant Medical Officers would fix up major garbage generating units like function halls, hotels, restaurants and others into the net of bulk garbage unit system. Chief Transport Officer had been asked to display details like the vehicle route, number of trips it had made in a day, etc. to monitor closely the movement of vehicles transporting garbage. Earlier in the day, Mr. Jaju visited Padmaraonagar, Namalagundu, Seethaphalmandi and others areas of Secunderabad division accompanied by local corporators -- Mantri Kalavati, M. Sujatha -- and others.
