BANGALORE: The Bangalore district police, who are on the lookout for the autorickshaw driver who attempted to rape an Australian woman in Chikkajala police station limits on July 15, have zeroed in on three persons. The police had prepared the portrait of the autorickshaw driver on the basis of the information given by the victim Sarah Paular (21), who was here on a six-week assignment to deliver lectures. The police said they had identified three autorickshaw drivers who had close resemblance to the portrait. The police have taken the photographs of the three drivers and sent them to Sarah Paular, who has returned to Australia, for identification. On July 15, Sarah Paular boarded an autorickshaw in Cooke Town to reach the Kempe Gowda Bus Station as she wanted to join her team in Chennai. But the driver took a wrong route and went towards Devanahalli Road. He stopped the vehicle at a secluded place near Bellalli Cross and snatched Sarah Paular's bag containing Rs. 3,000 in cash and a camera. Later, he tore her clothes and attempted to molest her, the police said.
