Civic body targets encroachments on public land

NEW DELHI: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi on Monday carried out demolitions at Kalkaji in South Delhi targeting encroachments on public land.

The civic body demolition squad reached the Kalkaji Double Storey colony in Block A and started razing encroachments on public land and illegal extensions of buildings. Soon a crowd gathered there and tried to protest the move, but heavy police presence ensured that the drive was carried out successfully.

Later local Councillor Khavinder Singh reached the spot and protested.
