Coimbatore: Airtel on Tuesday launched its Fixed Wireless Phone (FWP) services in Coimbatore. P. Swaminathan, Chief Executive Officer, Bharti Airtel, Mobility, Tamil Nadu introduced the service at a function held in the city. The chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, B.K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar made the first call to Vanitha Mohan, Managing Trustee of Siruthuli (a public initiative to conserve water bodies). The service fulfils the customer need for an innovative home phone service including mobility on the premises. It functions on the Global Satellite Mobile (GSM) network.
