Saudi King warns of regional war

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah on Tuesday announced an allocation of $500 million for the reconstruction of Lebanon. The King said in an official statement Saudi Arabia had also pledged $250 million for the Palestinians, state-owned Al-Ikhbariya television reported.

He also urged the international community to stop the Israeli offensive in Lebanon, warning of danger of a war in West Asia. ``The Middle East [West Asia] could be engulfed in war, if all peace moves fail.'' Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Siniora said Saudi Arabia's support was very important for Lebanon.
