BEIJING:
China's Fujian, Guangdong and Zhejiang provinces are calling ships back to harbours and evacuating people to brace themselves for the upcoming typhoon Kaemi, local authorities said on Monday. As of 6 p.m. Monday in Zhejiang, ships and fishing vessels numbering over 25,000 have sought shelter in protected harbours, 80,000 people in low-lying areas were evacuated to safer places, and 185 million cubic metres of water in reservoirs and 50 million cubic metres in rivers were let out in a bid to prevent floods.
