Praveen Prasad wins title
P. Praveen Prasad won the Rishi Jaideep State open chess tournament. He beat P. Satyanarayana in the final round on Tuesday. The final placings: 1. Praveen Prasad (7); 2. P. Satyanarayana, 3. M.Y. Raju, 4. A. Kumar, 5.P.V.V. Seshu, 6. R. Aditya Vikas, 7. S.V.C. Chakravarthy, 8. P. Srikanth (all six points). Special prizes: Boys': Y. Sai Akshay, J.V. Sai Kiran, K.S. Anand Reddy. Girls: Bansi Pratima, K. Sukanya, Tejaswini Reddy. Women: Janaki Devi.
STC Secuderabad wins
STC (Secunderabad) beat STC (Pondicherry) 6-0 in the first match in the boys' section of the South Zone SAI inter-hostel hockey tournament here on Tuesday. In the girls section STC (Kollam) beat STC (Secunderabad) 4-2.
Triniti triumphs
Triniti lifted the Royal Cup volleyball title when it beat HSBC 25-22, 25-15, 15-11 in the final on Tuesday. Earlier in the semi finals, Triniti had beaten Portal Player 25-15, 25-11 while HSBC had defeated Infosys 26-24, 20-25, 16-14.
