Indian Airlines Sports Control Board trounces BSNL

MADURAI: Indian Airlines Sports Control Board (IASCB) beat BSNL 3-0 in the men's team championship in the three-team Zone 2 league in the eighth inter-institution National Carrom championship organised by Carrom Promoters Club here on Tuesday.

The results:

(Men): Zone 2: IASCB bt BSNL 3-0. (R.M. Shrinkara bt Jeeban Deka 25-19, 25-4; M. Nataraj bt S.T. Sawanth 25-15, 3-25, 25-4; A. Maria Irudayam bt James Pandian 11-25, 25-18, 25-17).

Zone 3: RBI bt Postal 3-0.

Zone 4: LIC bt UIIC 3-0; CCSC SB bt MPSCB 3-0.

Women:

Zone 1: LIC bt PSPB 2-1; IAAD bt BSNL 3-0.

Arun scalps five

Arun Kunjumon's five for 26 and a fine 60 by Premkumar helped Vikram College of Engineering (Madurai) defeat Sudharsan Engineering College (Sathyamangalam) by two wickets in the Anna University Zone nine inter-engineering college cricket tournament in Karaikudi on Tuesday.

Easy for Sun SC

Sun Sports Club posted an emphatic 4-0 victory over Dudley School Football Club in the Dindigul District Football Association First division league for Coronation Trophy in Dindigul on Tuesday. Venkatesh (12th minute), Suresh (27th and 30th) and Parameswaran (43rd) scored.
