SHIMLA: The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet at its meeting here on Tuesday sanctioned creation and filling up of 1,568 posts of various categories in the Departments of Education, Health, PWD, Institute of Public Administration and State Electricity Board on regular and contract basis. These include 1,183 teaching and non-teaching posts in nine newly opened degree colleges, 82 newly upgraded senior secondary, and high and middle schools all over the State under the Education Department entailing an annual expenditure of about Rs. 15 crores. The Cabinet sanctioned 305 posts in the State Electricity Board, including 51 posts of Assistant Engineer, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical, 186 posts of Junior Engineer, Electrical, and 68 posts of Junior Engineer, Civil and Mechanical.
Also 72 posts in the Health and Family Welfare Department, consisting of 34 posts
Two posts of Chief Engineers in the Public Works Department to head the Bharat Nirman projects and World Bank-funded State Road projects for speedy and time-bound construction of roads in the State, and three posts, one each of Assistant Professor, Instructor and Manager Information Technology, in the Himachal Pradesh Institute of Public Administration have also been sanctioned.
