Plunkett ruled out of next two Tests

London: Liam Plunkett is the latest name in England's lengthy casualty list and the pacer has been ruled out of the side's next two Tests against Pakistan with a side strain.

Media reports here claimed Plunkett might well be out of action for the entire summer following the injury he sustained while bowling for Durham against West Indies `A' at Chester-le-Street last week. Plunkett was permitted to play the match by the England's management to give him batting practice. Plunkett was selected in the 14-man squad for second Test at Old Trafford, which starts on Thursday, but the England and Wales Cricket Board said that the pacer was ruled out after consultations with physio Kirk Russell on Tuesday morning.— UNI
