Four held on burglary charge

KADAPA: The police has busted a four-member gang of burglars at Chalivendrametta near Nandimandalam and has seized 11 tolas of gold ornaments, 16 tolas of silver and a colour television, worth Rs. 1.35 lakhs, that has been stolen by them.

Speaking on a press conference on Tuesday Kadapa DSP M. Ramprasada Rao said that the accused, including Vanteeri Nadipaiah (50), Thikkarapu Ramanaiah (60) and Vanteri Nagaiah (25) belonging to Vallur mandal along with Yakasiri Yellaiah (30) of Kamalapuram mandal confessed that they had burgled four houses and an old age home.

Lauding Kadapa rural CI U. Suryanarayana and SIs L. Sudhakar and P. Satya Babu for apprehending the gang, the DSP gave away cash rewards to a head constable, five constables and three home guards. Rewards had also been recommended to the CI and SIs, he said.
