SHIMLA: CBI Additional Director Ashwani Kumar will be the new Director-General of Himachal Police. The 1973 IPS batch police officer will replace Ajit Narayan, who retires on July 31. Mr. Ashwani Kumar belongs to Sirmaur in Himachal Pradesh and has served as SP, Shimla, and DIG, Southern Range. He also served in the SPG before joining the CBI in 2001. By another order, the Government has appointed Parminder Hira Mathur, Financial Commissioner-cum-Principal Secretary Revenue, as the new Additional Chief Secretary with immediate effect.
