NIZAMABAD: The district administration has suggested an idea of seeking the assistance of NRIs from Nizamabad in establishing a blood bank that is to be run under the supervision of Indian Red Cross Society at the district headquarters. Presiding over the IRCS executive committee meeting here on Tuesday evening, the Collector I.S. Sri Naresh said that the NRIs belonging to the district had launched a website recently offering help for different public causes. "It can be apt and useful if we seek assistance whether it is in cash or kind from them," he suggested. The IRCS had already constructed a building spending Rs.18 lakhs at Khaleelwadi to house the blood bank, which had been a long cherished dream of the society. In all likelihood Governor Rameswar Takur may open it in the next month. An estimated amount of Rs.14 lakhs would be required for infrastructure for the blood bank. The district administration suggested to the governing body to mobilise the amount from various sources.
