U.S. students on study tour

Bangalore: The emergence of Bangalore as a hub for biotechnology research has reached educational institutions overseas.

A group of 10 students of biotechnology from Kennesaw State University of the State of Georgia, U.S., were here as part of their study tour for 10 days in Karnataka. The team had students from Biotechnology and Biochemistry backgrounds. The team was headed by P.N. Achar, and had students from the U.S., Canada, Zimbabwe, Lebanon, Mauritius, Korea and India as well.

On Monday, after a visit to Biocon facility in Bangalore, they met experts in biotechnology led by T.K.S. Gowda, Director of Education, Post Graduate Studies, University of Agricultural Sciences, for an interactive session.
