Against soft drinks

Staff Reporter

Members of the Chennai-based Youth for Social Change collected more than 250 signatures on a banner urging film celebrities such as Aamir Khan to stop endorsing soft drinks of multinational companies.

The youths took out a rally around Besant Nagar to inform people why they felt that the soft drinks were not environment friendly.

Soft drinks and bottled water produced by these companies have robbed communities of drinking water, and aerated drinks were unhealthy and caused health problems in school and college students, the campaigners said.

The group addressed a press conference where a person wearing a face mask of actor Aamir Khan explained the campaigners' stance against the big corporates.
