Showers bring relief

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI: Showers in the city on Tuesday brought down the temperature to normal -- 33 degrees Celsius at Nungambakkam and 32.4 degrees Celsius at Meenambakkam. Both areas recorded a rainfall of 0.3 mm and 0.5 mm respectively on Tuesday.

The city's temperature hovered around 38 to 39 degrees Celsius for most of this month.

Upper air cyclonic circulation over South Tamil Nadu led to high cloud formation and subsequent rain on Tuesday, said members of the Meteorological department.
