HYDERABAD: The process of evaluation of bids submitted by six prominent companies for the Elevated Expressway from Mehdipatnam to international airport is on. The technical committee will meet on Thursday to shortlist the bidders while the financial bids will open on Monday. The bids submitted by Gamon India, Punj Loyd, Italian Thai Development, Bangkok, Navyug Engineering, Simplex Infrastructure and IJM Corporation, Malaysia are under evaluation for criteria like construction experience in elevated expressways or flyovers of not less than 2.5 km, . according to HUDA chief engineer Vivek Deshmukh.
Financial criteria
The financial criteria stipulate that bidders must have aggregate networth of Rs.250 crores and aggregate cash accrual of Rs.125 crores during the last two years. The 11.5 km bridge on which work would commence by August 15 has four components- flyover from Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital to Aramghar, Underpass at Aramghar, Trumpet interchange on Bangalore highway for easy connectivity from Bangalore highway to international airport and strengthening and widening existing inner ring road from Rethibowli junction to Aramghar junction. The Rs.600 crores project will be of 26 months duration but connectivity to the airport would be provided in 20 months. The Expressway should be ready by March 2008 along with completion of international airport.
