Rythu bazaars to sell GCC tamarind

HYDERABAD: All rythu bazaars in the State will have to sell tamarind procured by the Girijan Cooperative Corporation (GCC) from Wednesday.

Announcing this here on Tuesday, Agriculture and Civil Supplies Minister N.Raghuveera Reddy directed the officials to set up tamarind stalls in all the rythu bazaars.

Mr. Reddy, who reviewed the prices of essential commodities, was told by department officials that the GCC had a tamarind stock of 300 tonnes. They said 184 tonnes had alredy been supplied to fair price shops across the State. The schedule to supply the balance stock has already been finalised.
