GUNTUR : A schoolboy who accidentally fell into a canal while on his way to a friend's place in Tenali had a miraculous escape, thanks to the presence of mind of two youngsters. K. Gopi was walking towards Ithanagar over the newly laid cement lining of the Paladri Kaluva. The manholes were yet to be covered at a few places. Gopi fell into a manhole and was washed away by the waters of the irrigation canal. P. Rambabu, who was passing by, jumped into the manhole only to find Gopi being swept away. He then raised an alarm, catching the attention of D. Anil. Anil ran downstream, went ahead of Gopi and threw some logs. Later, he picked up Gopi as he caught hold of the logs.
