Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad traffic police are installing surveillance cameras at Hi-tec City junction in Madhapur to monitor traffic movement and detect traffic rule violators. These cameras would be functional in a day or two, traffic ACP G. Chander Rao said.

The cameras would work round-the-clock and can record images of traffic moving up to a distance of 500 metres.

They would have chips to store video footage for 10 days. Such equipment is being installed for the first time in Cyberabad. Though the Hyderabad police were the first to announce about installation of similar cameras in their jurisdiction, their counterparts in Cyberabad secured the distinction of implementing it first.
