Call to strengthen Left parties

Staff Reporter

KOCHI: CPI(M) Orissa State secretary Janardhanapathy has given a call to strengthen Left parties, which have intervened positively in deciding the Centre's foreign and economic policies.

Delivering a talk organised by the Ernakulam area committee of the CPI(M) on `The LDF Government and the Left's policies at the Centre,' he said that people have acknowledged the positive role played by the Left parties.

The Congress, BJP and a section of the media see the Left as anti-democratic. But the very same people have been indulging in all sorts of anti-democratic means. It goes to the credit of the Left parties that they have not toppled any non-Congress Governments at the Centre, he said.

N.K. Vasudevan, former student union leader, presided over the function.
