KOCHI: The anti-power theft squads of Kerala State Electricity Board held raids in three residences and a home-stay facility in west Kochi. According to the squads, a surprise check was held at the residence of N. Venugopal, Democratic Indira Congress (Karunakaran) leader and corporation councillor. On finding that the electronic meter was tampered with, a fine of Rs. 1.1 lakh was collected. A fine of Rs. 53,000 was collected from another residence in his neighbourhood at Panayappilly after a similar offence was detected.
