NEW DELHI: In what appears to be a case of suicide pact, a 45-year-old man allegedly ended his life after making his wife and three daughters consume poison at their Khajuri Khas residence in North-East Delhi on Monday. While his body was found in the woods at Timarpur on Tuesday, his daughters died in hospital. His wife has survived but is stated to be in critical condition. According to the police, they received a call late on Monday evening claiming that a woman, Mamta (43), and her three daughters, Shilpi (17), Shalini (15) and Shefali (13), were found lying in an unconscious state in their house at Khajuri Khas. Subsequently, the four were rushed to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital where doctors declared Shilpi dead on arrival. The other three were admitted and kept under observation. Initial examination suggested that all of them had consumed poison. According to the police, Shefali died late on Monday night, while Shalini was declared dead around 6 p.m. on Tuesday. "Their mother is fighting for her lift," said a senior police officer.
