Sasken buys Finnish firm
Special Correspondent
BANGALORE:
Sasken Communication Technologies has acquired the Finnish wireless R&D and testing services firm Botnia Hightech Oy in an all cash deal worth about Rs. 209 crore (Euro 35.5 million).
Apart from getting a foot-print in Finland, the acquisition helps Sasken scale up its offering portfolio faster by gaining expertise in wireless technology with competencies in radio frequency, hardware design and mechanical design. Botnia provides hardware, software, mechanical design and testing services to mobile handset vendors.
" Botnia's European presence with operations in Finland, Denmark and Germany and their expertise, combined with Sasken's global reach and India-based development centres, will enable us to offer a compelling portfolio of value-added solutions to our customers across the globe,'' Sasken Chairman and CEO Rajiv Mody said in a video presentation from Finland.
