THE CATCH: The ganja and the motorcycle seized in Kollam on Wednesday.
KOLLAM: Acting on a tip-off, an Excise team from the Karunagapally Range seized 2.6 kg of ganja here on Wednesday afternoon. A motorcycle was also seized in this connection. Range inspector B. Suresh said that two drug peddlers on the motorcycle managed to escape. The Excise team followed the duo for some time in a private car and was waiting for the right moment to intercept them. But they became aware that they were being followed and discarded the bike and the ganja on Karbala Road and escaped. Mr. Suresh gave their names as Samson and Shah Navas, residents of Kadappakada in the city.
