BANGALORE: The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) is withholding sending out allotment letters to 800 allottees of Arkavathy Layout because they have not furnished details of their age on the application form. A senior official of the BDA said the authority was conducting a verification process to ensure that age of the person meets the cut off criteria for the sites. "Allotment of sites is based on attempts and age. We want to ensure that we are not giving away a site to a person who does not meet all the criteria," the official added. Over the past month, the BDA has issued allotment letters to about 80 per cent of the 7,700 allottees. This is the second level of scrutiny of applicants by the BDA. Before finalising the allotment list for the second phase of allotments, the BDA had reviewed all applicants because of complaints from a few people that although they met the eligibility criteria, their applications were not considered. Over 650 applicants applied for reviewing and 228 were added to the allotment list, said the official.
