Rs. 2.80-cr. scholarships disbursed

KADAPA: Deputy Director of Social Welfare R. Venugopala Rao disbursed cheques for Rs. 2.80 crores towards scholarships to 4,753 college students belonging to Scheduled Castes on Wednesday.

Central and State Governments were spending crores of rupees for uplifting SCs and educating their children, he said in a scholarship disbursement function here.

District Social Welfare Officer P. Christopher asked students to enclose copies of permanent caste certificates along with their scholarship applications. College principals and management representatives took part.
