TIRUPATI: It was a happy reunion with parents for these 30 kids, who had run away from home and were on the verge of drifting towards vice. Identifying the street children from railway station and other busy areas, who had either become drug addicts or victims of all forms of violence, Bala Tejassu, an NGO, provided intensive counselling to them at Pachikapalam near here under `Children's Initiative' scheme, with the help of a social activist Sathi of Raichur. The children were made to understand the importance of family values, that made them reveal the names of their parents and native place. B. Seshu, Additional SP, formally handed over the children to parents. Programme Coordinator P.S. Rajendra and Project Officer P.S. Renuka were present.
