KURNOOL: TDP floor leader in the corporation J. Muralidhar Goud took exception to the proposal by the ruling party for a study tour of corporators. In a statement, Mr. Goud said it was not appropriate for the members and the Mayor to go on study tour when the city was reeling under water crisis and outbreak of chikungunya disease. He accused the Congress of failing to make use of summer storage tank, which was built at an enormous cost, to meet the city's water requirement. He said the summer storage tank was meant for stocking water to use in emergency, but the municipal authorities and the ruling party had no knowledge of the tank and pushed the city into serious water crisis. Also, no steps were taken to control mosquitoes, he said and demanded fogging operations to check mosquito breeding.
