Man found dead on railway track

VIJAYAWADA: The railway police found the body of a 35-year-old man on railway track between Vijayawada and Krishna Canal stations on Wednesday. The police said that the victim was wearing cement-coloured trousers and a blue-coloured T-shirt. The identity of the victim is yet to be known. The police suspected the man might have committed suicide. The body was sent to the mortuary in Government General Hospital.

Held with ganja

The Governorpet police on Wednesday arrested two persons and recovered 30 kg of ganja from them. The police said that Selvaraj, 50, and Selvi, 45, of Narsipatnam came to the city in a passenger train with a bag of ganja.

Following a tip-off, the police took them into custody on old Government General Hospital road and arrested them later.
