12-day Vasavi festival planned

Kakinada : A 12-day festival has been planned from August 13 to mark the coronation of the Goddess Vasavi Kanyaka Paramesweri, stated to be the first of its kind, after 4,465 years in the history of Arya Vysya community, according to Polisetti Vasu Babu, Chairman of the Kanyaka Paramesweri Charitable trust. Addressing a press conference on Wednesday along with Arya Vysya community leaders, he said over three lakh people from the state besides Karnataka, TN, Maharashtra and UP were expected to attend the festival. — Correspondent
