Three women robbed of gold chains

BANGALORE: Three women were robbed of their gold chains reported since Tuesday night.

The police said that around 6.30 a.m. on Wednesday, two men, riding a motorcycle snatched a gold chain estimated at Rs. 30,000 from Prema, a housewife, in Mahalakshmi Layout police station limits.

The police said the incident took place while Prema, a resident of 11th A Cross, Nagapura Main Road, was walking to a milk booth near her house.

The Mahalakshmi Layout police have registered a case.

Two men riding a motorcycle snatched a gold chain estimated at Rs. 30,000 from Vedavathi (26), a private company employee, while she was walking home on 2nd Main, 9th Block, Jayanagar.

The incident occurred around 8.45 p.m. on Tuesday while Ms. Vedavathi was returning home from work, the police said. The Tilaknagar police have registered a case.

A thief put his hands through an open window and snatched a gold chain estimated at Rs. 25,000 from Ropashree while she was sleeping at her house on 3rd Cross, Chunchagatta Main Road.

The incident occurred around 3 a.m. on Wednesday. On a complaint by Ms. Roopashree, the Subramanyapura police have registered a case.

Woman found dead

The charred body of Susheelamma (55) was found in front of the Shanimahatma Temple near her house in Coolienagar slum in Nandini Layout police station limits on Wednesday morning.

The police, who found a kerosene tin near the body, suspect that she could have committed suicide by setting herself ablaze.

The body was charred beyond recognition and her son Anji identified it on the basis of Ms. Susheelamma's matted hair. The victim earned a living by selling talismans.

The Nandini Layout police have registered a case.

Arrested for murder

The Rajagopalanagar police have arrested three persons, who had allegedly murdered Ranganatah at Laggere on July 25.

The names of the arrested were given as Krishna Murthy (29), Rakesh (25) and Rame Gowda (25).

In another case, the Yeshwanthapur police have arrested three persons who had allegedly murdered Girish near the Yeshwanthapur railway station on July 14.

The arrested were identified as Vijay Kumar (25), H. Khan (26) and Ijaj (32).
