Panel to fix tariff for NCE units
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD:
The Government has constituted a committee of officials from the Finance Department, AP Transco and Non-Conventional Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh to fix tariff payable on purchase of power from non-conventional energy (NCE) units.
There has been a legal wrangle over the issue, with the Transco seeking to reduce the present rates applicable to the NCE units saying it can't encourage these units at the cost of consumers, while NCE developers are demanding a hike.
The decision to constitute the committee was taken by Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy at a meeting to review NEDCAP activities here on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister asked the NEDCAP officials to popularise energy-saving devices among consumers in a big way.
