dated July 28, 1956: Warning against cross talk

Cross talk in the Lok Sabha on July 25 drowned a member's speech and evoked a warning from the Deputy Speaker, Sardar Hukam Singh, that if such talk continued he would have to suspend the business of the House. Mr. U.N. Burman was speaking on the Bihar-Bengal (Transfer of Territories) Bill when loud conversation among members provoked the Chair's interruption. Sardar Hukam Singh reprimanded the members for creating noise and said if it continued he would suspend the proceedings.
