Retain RTI Act in present form: V.P. Singh

NEW DELHI: In an open letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the former Prime Minister V.P. Singh has urged him to retain the Right to Information Act in its present form.

"This is one of your Government's most important achievements. After the amendments, the law will no longer be in the interest of the people and the spirit of the legislation will be lost," Mr. Singh said.
