Lapang meets Sonia

NEW DELHI: The ouster of Meghalaya Chief Minister J.D. Rymbai appeared imminent after a meeting between Congress president Sonia Gandhi and D.D Lapang here on Thursday.

Congress sources said Mr. Lapang met Ms. Gandhi at her residence along with Union Minister and AICC general secretary Oscar Fernandes, in-charge of party affairs in Meghalaya. He claimed the support of 19 of the 29 Congress MLAs in the 60-member Assembly.
