ZP chief`s gesture to class IV staff

To set aside perks, emoluments for the welfare of their children


  • Promises to spend Rs.3-4 lakhs on welfare of employees
  • Not to use official vehicle
  • To focus on improving infrastructure, facilities

    NELLORE: Zilla Parishad Chairperson Kakani Goverdhan Reddy has announced that whatever perks and emoluments, including honorarium he gets, will be spent on the welfare of class IV employees' children.

    The budget set aside for conveyance such as travelling allowance (TA), dearness allowance (DA) and other such expenditure would also be spent for the same cause. "I will not use any official vehicle provided by the parishad as I have taken a decision to use my own vehicle," he said after taking charge here on Thursday.

    Employees' welfare

    He would spend an amount of Rs. 3 lakhs to Rs. 4 lakhs per annum for the employees' welfare. The ZP Chairperson gets Rs. 5,000 per month as honorarium and his monthly expenditure would be not less than Rs. 25,000 on an average for conveyance, TA and DA.

    Roadmap

    Addressing a press conference, Mr. Reddy said that he would make an effort to comprehend the functioning of various wings. "I will prepare a roadmap to transform the Nellore ZP into one of the best functioning models in the State," he said.

    Outlining his priorities, he said that he would lay stress on improvement of infrastructure facilities, besides exploring new avenues for the mobilisation of funds. "Social concerns as well as fiscal prudence will guide our plans to raise funds for infrastructure development and welfare programmes for underprivileged sections and farmers," he said.
