NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court has issued notices to the Centre, the Delhi Government and others on a petition by the DAV Public School Sant Nagar Parents' Association here accusing the school management of misappropriation of funds, violation of the now defunct Foreign Exchange Regulation Act (FERA) and illegal sale of immovable properties. A Division Bench of the Court comprising Justice Vijender Jain and Justice Kailash Gambhir directed the respondents to file replies to the petition by October 16. The petitioner said that the DAV College Trust and Management Society had executed an agreement with the Ministry of Women Affairs, Jiguan State, Nigeria, under which 26 male and female teachers were recruited on payment of commission at the rate of 5 per cent by each candidate. According to the petitioner, the Income Tax Department had assessed a taxable income of more than Rs. 21 crores of the management and had imposed a penalty on it for evading income tax. The petitioner urged the Court to abolish the school management and appoint an administrator in its place to run the institution.
